Adoption Support Fund increased by £12 million

Centre welcomes additional funding for adopters & special guardians

The Centre for Adoption Support team are delighted with the announcement that adoptive families and special guardians are set to benefit from additional support after the Adoption Support Fund was increased by £12 million – taking the total investment to £149 million since 2015.

Anne Fleming, Centre for Adoption Support Service Manager commented:

“This is very welcome and encouraging  news for Adopters and Special Guardians across England.

It was heartening to know that the contributions and recent messages, delivered directly to Nadhim Zahawi MP Children’s Minister by a group of knowledgeable and experienced adoptive parents, including our very own Practice Manger, David Robinson Field, were so clearly valued”.

Over 35,000 families have already benefited from the Adoption Support Fund, which provides funding for a wide range of adoption support including , therapeutic support, play and music therapy, and family support sessions.  Most of the Centre for Adoption Supports workshops, training and events can be funded through the fund.
