Dates for 2019 coming soon!
We would like to invite you and your children to join us for our next singing voices session in Warrington. The CfAS Choir started in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength, growing in members; all of whom are either adopted, have adopted siblings or have parents in the profession. The children get together for a fun singing session, build their confidence and make new friends.
This group is not only fun for the children but provides an emotional release for them, as it develops their sense of security and provides a way to express their feelings. Through singing in parts, the children learn to be independent whilst also learning to respond to others musically. They take pride in their group accomplishments together and form lasting relationships with the other children.
Our choir master Rosie Shields has won a coveted NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) award for her recent performance as the Witch in ‘Into the Woods’ performed at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn. She shares her vocal training and talents with the children and so far they have recorded some lovely songs; ‘Hold My Hand’ by Jess Glynne, ‘When I grow up’ from Matilda and are now learning ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman! One adoptive parent who attends choir with her children commented: “After some friendly introductions and some vocal warm ups led by the fabulous Rosie, we are transformed into popstars within the hour. You can physically see kids grow in confidence and self-esteem and parents let go and throw themselves into it”
Disabled Access is available at the venue in Warrington. However access to the toilets is up one step.
