We are so proud of our Centre for Adoption Support choir who recorded this version of ‘When I Grow Up’, a song they chose themselves. Please play the below video to hear the choir sing the song.
The #CfAS choir was set up in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength growing in numbers. Members of the choir are adopted, have adopted siblings or parents in the profession. The choir get together for a fun singing session, build their confidence and make new friends.
This group is not only fun but provides an emotional release for the children. Attending the choir helps develop their sense of belonging and provides a way to express their feelings. Through singing in parts, the children learn to be independent whilst also learning to respond to others musically. They take pride in their group accomplishments together and form lasting relationships with each other.
Our choir master Rosie Shields has won a coveted award for her recent performance as the Witch in ‘Into the Woods’ performed at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn. She shares her vocal training and talents with the children. For more information about the Choir, click here.
‘When I Grow Up’ is a song from the musical Matilda. It’s music and lyrics were written by Tim Minchin.
The choir relies on the support of volunteers. To help the choir grow further we would value sponsorship, no matter how small, every penny donated will help provide more staff support, musical equipment or even a professional recording studio experience!
